ACTION ALERT!!! ACTION ALERT!!
CONNECTICUT RIGHT TO LIFE CORPORATION
CITIZENS' FORUM
Monday, March 16, 2009
7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.
St. Joseph H.S
2320 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull, CT
Connecticut Right to Life Corporation is sponsoring a "Citizen's Forum" to promote bills the legislature has refused to hear.
Two bills introduced into the Connecticut General Assembly this year are:
- Raising the Age for Counseling of a Minor (HB 5913) for an abortion from under 16 to under 18 years of age, introduced by St. Reps. Thompson (D - 13, Manchester) and Mioli (D - 136, Westport), and to
- Mandate Reporting of the Pregnancy of a Minor (under 12 years of age)(HB 5202), sponsored by St. Rep. T.R. Rowe (R - 123, Trumbull).
Both bills were referred to the Select Committee on Children, however, this committee has refused to raise either bill for a public hearing. Thus, because the Select Committee on Children refuses to hear us in Hartford, the Connecticut Right to Life Corporation will hold it's own "Citizen's Forum" concerning these bills, in Trumbull, the hometown of the Children's Committee Co-Chairman, Senator Anthony J. Musto (D-22, Bridgeport, Trumbull, Monroe)!!!
The forum will also address two other bills introduced by St. Rep. T.R. Rowe (R-123, Trumbull) concerning:
- Parental Notification (HB 5632) co-sponsored by St. Rep. D’Amelio (D-71, Waterbury)
- Informed Consent for an Abortion (HB 5629)
Both bills were referred to the Public Health Committee, and both bills were also refused public hearings by that committee.
Please help to assure a large turnout on behalf of parents' rights and the safety of women and of minor girls concerning abortion.
We are inviting Senator Musto to our “Citizens Forum” to explain his committee's action, or lack thereof, concerning these bills. Other legislators will be invited to speak on these bills. The media will also be invited.

Though your legislators may say these bills died in committee without a public hearing, NO BILL IS DEAD until the legislature adjours in June!!! Bills, thought to be dead, can reappear as amendments to related bills. If enough pressure is applied, you'd be amazed at the miracles legislators can perform, even raising dead bills back to life! And if not this year, there's always next year, and its not too early to start, now!!!

To hear about bills related to abortion that have been introduced this year in the legislature concerning parental notification, counseling of a minor, mandated reporting of a pregnancy of a minor, informed consent for an abortion and viewing of an ultrasound picture before an abortion.
This forum is being held in the hometown of Senator Anthony J. Musto, Co-Chairman of the Committee on Children, which has failed to refer any of these bills for a public hearing. The senator has been invited to attend.
State Representative T.R. Rowe, also from Trumbull, and sponsor of three of these bills, has also been invited, and plans to attend.
